Wilder KO in the 9th round.

Because Ortiz is old, shot and slow and Wilder will land one of the looping long hooks on him and close the show in the later rounds

I subscribe to the theory that Wilder is far better than he appears. I realise his opposition hasn't been stellar but his results still suggest he is very effective despite looking all over the place at times.

So I lean Wilder but see this fight as pretty close to 50/50.

Wilder by KO, he's at least 10 years younger and is not suffering from PED withdrawal symptoms.

I'm going to go on a limb and say that if Wilder can magically develop a jab and some footwork, he could take this fairly handily. Ortiz is as old as mud. In fact, if you can read sanskrit, you will know that Ortiz was one of the guys that helped Noah collect all the animals for the Ark.

On the flipside, if we get the Wilder that got roughed up by Duhaupas, out-jabbed by Washington and out slicked by Szpilka, then at some point Ortiz is going to land, old or not, and then it's lights out for Bronze Bambi.

I think Wilder is too full of himself right now to make the necessary adjustments (I beat Tyson n everybody!) and he's going to go against Ortiz recklessly and get KTFO.

    i agree
i think wilder has the abilty and talent to outbox and outspeed ortiz

but like you i think wilder is too far up his own arse at the moment and too undisciplined and will get beat by ortiz .

If there's any justice in the world. The wbc won't overlook the drug tests that Ortiz fails, and Deontay is granted another voluntary defense. He's been such a good ambassador, for the sport. Godbless the bronze bomber.

Depends on hos disciplined Wilder approaches this fight. I believe he gets the decision, if he stays cool, keeps his distance and establish the jab from R.1. Maybe even break Ortiz down for a late stoppage.

However, if he thinks he will just blow Ortiz away like he did Stiverne II, its another story. If he starts windmilling, Ortiz will time him with something big.

I will go with Wilder by UD.

Wilder wide UD win as Ortiz plods after him, trying to land that one big shot and missing wildly every time. Wilder playing it save and landing the occasional jab and right hand. Snoozefest that will put many to sleep.
