?? Whyte is prime and hungry. Ortiz has two likely outcomes for himself: 1) Trade and get sparked/stopped. 2) Be cagey and lose on points. I know for a fact that many a poster will say "Ha ha, Ortiz all day over the poorly balanced, raw, useless Whyte" but if this fight ever does happen (which is massively unlikely) it'll be free money on a Whyte W.
Whyte at this stage would KO or outpoint the plodding Ortiz. I used to believe that Ortiz might go on to do big things, but he's shown no ambition or urgency in raising himself above the comfortable level he's at, and at his age (official or otherwise) those habits can be hard to break.
Whyte wins by avoiding the fight and pursuing better paydays. In a fantasy fight Ortiz by brutal and early KO.
If Whyte can get past the first 4-5 rounds and hustle the old man's body, I think he takes it. Ortiz has had such a disappointing career. His level of opposition has been **** poor and he seems more than content to dine out on the fact he wobbled Wilder. His rep as a boogieman washes away further and further with each 10 rounder against the likes of Kauffman.
A while ago I would of said Ortiz by brutal KO, but now I'm not so sure. Kaufmann took Ortiz late just by using a little movement and Whyte in his last fight with Chisora showed he could be smart and pace himself and give up rounds knowing he can come on stronger later. A similar tactic vs Ortiz could see him stop or out point a tiring Ortiz. Right now I think it's a pick'em fight.
Ortiz wins this easily, Whyte hasn't shown anything recently to indicate he can beat ortiz. Ortiz has been more active and proved how dangerous of an opponent he is by defeating Kauffman... what has Whyte done lately? A few lucky KO's. Whyte's power is overrated... and Ortiz will combo Whyte's head into oblivion before Whyte realises it's round 2. Ahhh it's not april fools day yet... damn.
