Whyte by KO. Easy as well. Once Ortiz fades, he is food for that left hook.

Joyce is more like the British Breazeale. Whyte I'd put up among Wilder's level right now.

    Agree with both these comments.

I think Whyte's newfound patience and commitment to the long game will be the key to him beating Ortiz. Ortiz is a master counter puncher, but he struggles when he has to put it on fighters, and I can see Whyte holding back, popping Ortiz with his faster jab and sneaking in sharp digging counters to the body and head when Ortiz tries to open up. Sooner or later Ortiz begins to feel the pressure, and that's when Whyte can start to really hurt him.

Course, Ortiz still possesses those heavy hands, and Whyte's not exactly the hardest fighter in the world to find. Just think that Whyte has a bit too much dog in him to be denied.

I see this being another Eddie Hearn PPV stinker.

I think it's close. Ortiz's age means he can't really go up the gears, but Whyte has a pretty poor engine anyway. I think Ortiz's skill is a good level better, but Whyte's not bad, can look a bit sloppy and languid, but actually quite a clever fighter, who knows the tricks.

I give Ortiz the edge, but Whyte is good at finding a way to grind out a win, so I wouldn't be shocked if he did it at this point.

True, I think it could really be a dull one paced fight.

Ahhh, no, Whyte is ducking Ortiz for a while now, i doubt he gonna fight him under Matchroom flag if can't get the money he wants for the Joshua fight. Maybe the fight will happen if he signs with Haymon. But Haymon is not well known for let his HWs fight each other.

Agreed, Whyte is a dull fighter. He never shows up and most of his fights are underwhelming to be honest.

Terrible left hook as well. Can't splat a fly with that thing.

I think he gives it his all, he's just got a sloppiness, and an awful engine. I don't think he has ability beyond what we've seen.

I'd say Ortiz is worse for not showing up (or did you mean Ortiz?)

I meant Whyte, yeah his engine is terrible... barely achieving 12 rounds with Parker at 258 pounds 6'3. I mean it is not like Parker is renowned for his intensity... Parker is barely mobile himself.

I think Whyte gives all he has, he just has limitations.

Very good ,close fight. All depends if Ortiz can keep up with Whytes work rate. Whyte is getting better at pacing himself and Ortiz punches in spurts with predictable combos, you almost always know whats coming but he has reasonable speed and skill he finds a way to keep doing the same thing over and over. Will it work on Whyte ? Im not so sure.

Ortiz wins this fight in 2018 but its now 2019 and Whyte will improve. you have to assume Whyte actually uses movement here which Ortiz hates ,he looks better with guys standing in the pocket.

Style wise Whyte really doesn't match good because he doesn't have a very good technical right hand but the other factors which are Ortiz weakness is stamina and movement.

Skill goes to Ortiz but X factors go to Whyte.

Whyte Squeeks this one out and maybe starts banging Ortiz up after 9 rounds and gets a UD win.

I always believed this was a walk in the park for Ortiz. But he is 49 year old!! Too many people have corroborated this now. He's not even denied it to my knowledge. So I was beginning to edge Whyte but matchroom must know Ortiz would still do a number on him as they ducked him, and Whyte is still playing down the fight claiming no one knows him, yet he bigs up Charr.
