Either result Ortiz would still get betrayed as an old man.

Joyce beats an old man or Joyce loses to an old man. Can't win either way

While I agree that Joyce's boxing does seem so limited he did win European Gold as an amateur and also should of won Olympic Gold which is far more than Ortiz ever achieved as an amateur.

I don't see Ortiz being able to out box Joyce, he doesn't have the movement to keep Joyce off him and can't match his work rate. I see Joyce pressuring Ortiz and Ortiz losing rounds but his counters and power will be his keys to victory. Joyce will either be forced to be less aggressive and forced to try and box with Ortiz at Ortiz's pace and range or will be walked onto a big counter after big counter and eventually stopped.

I would favour Joyce in 18 months to 2 years time. Now, Ortiz is ramped up from that Wilder loss so it’s bad timing

Good match up and a big risk fight for both. If this comes off both fighters should be praised and hopefully it will be a great fight.

A win for Joyce would put him right up there and lead to another huge fight..
Ortiz is putting it all on the line because a defeat here and he has nowhere to go at Elite level and big money fights..

    Hope it happens.

    Another vote for Ortiz.

Joyce looks like he might be somebody worth following in a bit, but I'm not sure he's ready for somebody with the savvy of Ortiz. Joyce looks too hittable imho, and Ortiz will be glad to oblige.

Maybe they found Ortiz' passport from 1912 and figured they could beat him on youth.

But this is the world's most dangerous centenatian we're talking about ;)

I'll have to go with Ortiz as well. Too many factors play in the hands of the Cuban, with Joyce only having an edge in terms of age and size. I consider their power equal, with maybe a slight edge to Ortiz given his level of opposition.

Joyce is an aggressive come forward fighter, with limited defensive defensive skills (at least of what we have seen so far). Ortiz is a savy counter puncher, with good timing and heavy hands. The style match up does not favor Joyce. Also, I understand the urge to fast track him because of his age, but this is a huge step up in competition. He could be overwhelmed by the level Ortiz operates on.

But this is a good fight, and I like both guys. No real bias towards any of them, so I will be watching as a neutral, hoping for a good scrap.
