Ortiz from 30 years ago would have dominated Rivas. But this ancient decrepit Ortiz would wilt under the pressure from a much much younger and hungrier opponent. Rivas is basic but brings alot of energy , strength and stamina - so is a bad match up for a very very old Oritz.

Wouldn't happen anyway, unless Rivas wins a belt. Ortiz is extremely risk averse.

If it did happen I think Rivas scores a come from behind KO, but Ortiz is still dangerous so that's by no means a confident pick.

Not sure what you're seeing. Rivas isn't Ali but he has pretty explosive power, and is clearly faster than Ortiz.

They're on about the same tier, IMO.

A healthy Rivas with a good eye would probably be a slight favorite over any Ortiz version I've seen. With this persistently aggravated tissue damage? Meh, I might swing the other way and slightly favor Ortiz.

Jennings only had 19/20 fights with Ortiz coming off a loss, Rivas fought a guy struggling but a more seasoned fighter when he fought Jennings......you DONT peak at 19/20 fights .......

IDK, at this point it’s anyone’s guess.

Rivas showing of Whyte suggests he could be tough enough to make Ortiz work and tire him out with the style but ? I think Ortiz would look better with guys under the 6’4 mark .

I’d go with an Ortiz even in a loss here who punches lose effect going upward.

Rivas wasn't that impressive against Whyte. He was inaccurate and looked like he couldn't judge the distance. Ortiz easy Late TKO or UD

Ortiz is technically better, better counterpuncher and better head movement.

Rivas on the other hand is physically stronger, harder hitter, has the better chinn, better guard & defence.

Close one to call but I'd give Rivas the edge as I think Ortiz would struggle with his power and toughness whilst age has also caught up with Ortiz.
