What we thinking? Anyone convinced or not? You cant really read too much into the Malik Scott fight but I still think could of done a bit more. He gave Dave Allen big shots early on in the fight which didnt really bother Allen and still took him 7 rounds to get Dave out of there. Anyone thinks he beats the top guys? I personally think he slow on his feet and a bit predictable. Also obviously much older than what is claimed to be. Thoughts??
I think he's the business personally, he needs a quality opponent to prove this. He would wipe Wilder out with a counter left in my opinion.
I think he was a little over-hyped initially, but since the Scott fight we're ignoring how easily he handled Jennings and Thompson. They're talking about putting him in with Briggs which is frankly ridiculous. He's just gone backwards with Matchroom so far. Let him knock Whyte out then or someone then let him fight AJ after Klit (assuming he wins). No reason for that fight not to happen
For me its o e of them he Weill always rise just above the level of his opponent I like him busts needs the big testest and I don't mean ped test
Match him up with the Viking! Tired of people ducking this man he needs a tough opponent already! This content is protected
He's in the mix with the top boys that's for sure. Slightly over-hyped initially, but since the Malik Scott fight the swing in the other direction has been too extreme, as is often the case. He's got the tools to stop anyone he shares the ring with, but is probably a bit more one-dimensional than I first thought...
Slow feet and no head movement.I think he is overated and he has no one on his resume that could convince me other wise.
Ortiz was probably overhyped before, now after the Scott fight when a lot of people saw him for the first time, the pendulum has swung the other way massively. Think an active, in-shape Fury would beat him and still be the best in the division but that Fury might not ever be back. Hard to say how he matches up with Joshua who has hardly been tested and should improve a lot from the upcoming Klitschko fight. Would favour Ortiz over Parker and probably Wilder. He is going to perform to the level of his competition, and really needs a big fight soon to measure him. Like PaddyGarcia said, fighting Briggs will not be an interesting fight, but if they get it done for the WBA regular title then it's at least a step in the right direction towards getting the winner of Wlad-Joshua.
He's easily top 3 for me, southpaw who carries serious power. I got a feeling his chin is going to be granite too, just look at how thick his neck is.
I rate him highly but the last two performances havent been great by the sounds of things. Still to watch the dave allen fight tho. Gave him a pass against scuba because he did win the fight handily at the end of the day and scuba pretty much ran for his life. But its been a bit of an anti climax so far under matchroom. Before then he looked the business... was more than just a heavy hitter had the skill to go with it. Still say hes the danger man of the division tho. But the jurys out now. Disappointed with parker at the weekend also...struggled in there with ruiz. Rated him pretty highly as well thought he would have caused joshua problems but going off that performance its not looking likely. Getting some good hard rounds in tho.
