Came back to the ring after a nearly two year absence to pick up win number 107 in his now 127th total career bout? This wasn't even a month ago now.

Campas is now an unbelievably 46 years old has been campaigning regularly since July 11h, 1987. He debuted when he was just 15 years old.

Just chew on that for a moment and let it really sink in, and think about men like Yory Bory Campas the next time the current flavor of the month experiences a small ass ache and has to reschedule or cancel a big fight

As far as I know Campas is the only active boxer that debuted in the 1980's, he is truly the last of the Mahicans.

Unfortunately you know there’s always a promoter willing to squeeze every last dime out of, I mean give a well past his prime fighter one more chance at greatness.

I saw a recent Fernando Vargas interview on B-Scene where he says Campas embarrassed him badly shortly after he had turned pro and the two sparred. Vargas admits to bursting into tears because he was so worked up & pissed/disappointed. Years later they fought, and during the build up to the fight Campas never brought the incident up for publicity reasons or to be a *****, not a peep. Not even he lost in pretty one sided fashion to the much improved and slightly older Vargas.

    I love Campas.

Damn! I was keeping a close eye on Campas all of last year, hoping he would have just one fight in 2017 - which would have kept his consecutive years streak alive. Instead it stopped at 30... which is still good enough for tied (with Roy Jones) 2nd place on the all-time list.
