Headlining on ShoBox, January 7th. 10 rounds scheduled at featherweight. Someone's 0 has to go. Dominican puncher versus puertorriqueño boxer.

Even though Lebron is the favorite, Arrieta's style will cause him a ton of problems. His shots are far too compact, he's far too accurate, he closes the distance quite well, and can come in from awkward angles that I doubt Lebron has seen before. Lebron is too cautious and conservative with his output, so either he'll be outworked and lose via close SD, or get beaten down and stopped.

:dunno Lebron? I'm very confused. :sisi1

Arrieta has a couple of countrymen in the feather range (Henry and Luis) with the last name LeBron, but afaik his opponent is still Nuñez. And the Dominican doesn't bear a particularly strong resemblance to the NBA star, so...I'm super lost here.

I had a massive brainfart, but rooted in an observation I made to myself about Nunez when I was doing research for this match a few days back in Kirk's. That observation was... Luis Nunez looks like a black version of Luis Lebron.

    Well... am I wrong?

You are not! Literally like an old video game pallette swap (ie Sub-Zero/Scorpion/Reptile/Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat)

Very good matchmaking. I like what i have seen from Nunez so far. He's big despite fighting at smaller weight classes before. He's rangy as hell and knows how to use his length. Very accurate and likes to work the body. He also looks extremely strong in close range tossing around opponents left and right. Arrieta might be a bit more technical but he CLEARLY lost the fight aginst Ricardo Nunez and got a robbery decision, he was pressured and walked down for the entire fight and the pressure caught up with him pretty quickly in that fight against an opponent he should beat handily at this point if he's a legit talent. I think he had a good start but slowed and Nunez basically dominated the fight in the second half. Arrieta also struggled mightly against Martin Diaz but the scorecards doesn't reflect that at all (i had it MUCH closer, close to draw).

I'm going with Nunez via stoppage between 7-10. A couple of close rounds early but Nunez should take over fairly easily and dominate the later stage of the fight.

Nunez by the way already has a WBA ranking (#12) and i guess he has some ties there so i can see a robbery IF its close by any means (which i doubt tbh).
