Was he a Kosta Tzysu like near great, just on the cusp? Not even on that level?

He was really screwed out of a handful of fights, and the amount of headbutt related incidents in his fights was shocking.

His destruction of Kennedy McKinney was frightening, showing that Espinosa had one of the best right hands in years. That match, and other defenses of his WBC title were great examples of what a fine fighter he was when it all came together.

Shortly before winning the title he beat 50-4 Raul Perez in Japan, in something like 2 minutes. Knocked him out in one round. Perez was a damned solid fighter in his own right.

Thoughts? Where does he rank in his favored weight classes?

remember hamed never want to have a piece of espinosa. when espinosa lost his belt to cesar soto that was the only time hamed lobbied for a crack that the wbc belt and establishing lineage in the process

i would say that hamed, then an elite p4p fighter for almost three years ducked the 3 year wbc champion (most prestige organization in the late 90s)

Epinosa can definitely crack but he was maddeningly frustrating to watch since you knew that he could do so much better than what he sometimes showed you.

One moment he is destroying a quality fighter like McKinney then next thing you know he is losing to Augie Sanchez.

What was with that Galaxy fight?

Seemed far to obvious of a fall to be fixed if you know what I mean, unless Khaokor doesnt understand what taking a dive is meant to look like...its like Galaxy collapsed in the ring. He didnt fight again anyway, maybe he had head troubles.

Maybe Espinosa gave him the head troubles.

Obviously wasn't a fix. Ever see Trinidad take on the iron chinned Troy Waters? Hits him on the temple once in the first, and before you know it he's out of there, not reacting as fast as you usually would from a heavy shot to, say, the jaw.

Why in gods name would one of Thailand's most popular fighters throw a fight smack dab in the middle of his country? :nut

More then likely a concussion that he suffered and then collapsed from.

Sanchez was one of if not the dirtiest fighter of the past 15-20 years, look at the trouble he gave Pacquiao.

Yeah there was a solid shot to the temple about 10 seconds before..it could have been from that.

Yes I have seen that Waters fight...one of the most poorly timed displays of bravado you are ever going to see. Waving in Tito whilst on the verge of collapse in the first round.

A mixture of the way the actual KO played out and unconvincing delayed reaction adn the fact Khaokor had a truly granite chin.It just doesn't sit right.

I know the fight is thought of as highly dubious in asian boxing circles.

Well-rounded boxing skills, with above-average power but his shaky chin was always a problem.
