I don't get what the **** amateur boxing is, I always thought it was a place for young boxers to learn the craft before they turn pro. Now it seems some are tempted to be CAREER amateurs. Now that is fine if you are from somewhere like Cuba, and I expect it is hard to get into the pro ranks if you are from somewhere like Kazakhstan, but we have UK Olympics medalists umming and ahhing over whether to turn pro. I can't get my head round it. I haven't heard of any Olympians from any country turning pro yet, even that Lomachenko guy.
If he is raising his profile for a pro career, i'm not sure Dancing on Ice is the best show to go on to get fans. Plus there is the potential for injury, that **** looks dangerous.
AIBA are paying the top amateurs ****loads to compete in that World Series of Boxing ****. I can understand why some of the younger and less talented lads would choose the WSB but I read Lomachenko signed a 5 year deal with the WSB and he's a ****ing world class amateur who could make millions in the pros. Waste of talent.
Hm...I'm not sure what I'm thinking of. I must have misread something. He did a pretty good interview recently, and he surprised me with his comments about his age. I like a lot of the things he says, and I have quite a bit of hope in him. I'd love to see him step it up a bit and fight someone in the top 20.
:deal I'm a big fan, hopefully he can get some big fights in 2013. I know he wants them but I suspect he will be avoided like the plague. High risk, low reward opponent.
