It's unfortunate that this fight couldn't take place. Both of these guys are beasts and well rounded fighters and both of them have a great winning streak against legit competition. It's a shame that this title fight would be one of the least popular title fights, but quality-wise these two fighters are the best MMA has the offer at the moment, P4P they're better than Jones and DC. Rockhold is a complete fighter with an extremely underrated ground game. His MMA BJJ is slick and once he gets the top position the fight is basically over. This was something a lot of people forgot before his fight with Weidman and thought Rockhold is more like some kickboxer who'll have problems with Weidman's wrestling. Rockhold has more tools than Jon Jones and is a more complete fighter. Romero is a tricky guy who's extremely explosive and paces himself well. He seriously hurt everyone they put in front him in the UFC, once he decides that it's the right time he will do serious damage. Olympic wresler with flashy striking and tons of dirty tricks. One of the best fighters UFC has ever seen, he's 7-0 in the UFC so far even though he's past his athletic prime. Obviously the fight between these two wouldn't get much attention but purely as a fight fan I would really love to watch it.
Jon Jones is the best p4p boxer in the UFC. He have beaten all the top contenders. Daniel Cormier, Gustafsson, Teixeira, Belfort, Evans, Machida and Jackson. Rockhold lost vs Belfort and the rematch fights against Weidman is his first title defense. To say he is higher p4p than Jon Jones is just bullshi*.
Boxer? Holly Holm is a much better boxer than him pound for pound gender for gender. Look at them sparring in pure boxing only, if she had the power of a 200+lbs male she would outbox him in a boxing match. Boxing is actually one of the weakest aspects of Bones
yeah I agree, Romero is explosive as hell and Rockhold is so well rounded. Jacare is right there as well simply because his ground game is off the charts, plus his stand up has come a long way:bbb
Yeah it's a great testament to Romero's skills that he gave no respect to Jacare's guard and just blasted him with ground and pound.
