Fair point. His speed was a huge part of his game. Fractions of a second could explain it. I wish we knew how much these guys fluctuate in weight.
Rockhold just has less then stellar defense which allows opponents to land clean , anyone would get dropped with the shots Bisping landed , it was 4 or 5 accurate punches that caused the fight to be stopped . Romero caught Rockhold with a helluva shot that was due to extremely bad defense , he is too predictable . Likely he is too old to change his style .. Luke seems to have all the tools physically but mentally something is lacking .
WOW your way off dude and there is far more better examples of drop offs in performance since USADA came in. Machidas 18 month suspension was the rediculous imo compared to absolute clear cheats like Lesnar a multiple time ofender who got 12 months for taking steroids after a fight and just tried to get away with it. Machida was given a suspension for taking 7-keto-DHEA which people who know anything about it will tell you it isnt doesnt enhance performance in anyway and had it had only just been put on the banned list about 6 months before Machidas suspension. Machida in the previous 13 years plus career had never been suspended or been suspected of taking PEDs previously and his only error was not checking the udated list of which as soon as he realized before his fight he notified them but still got a harsh penalty.
I didn't express any specific charges. I did say I want it to be untrue. There was a drop in performance. Before USADA, Machida was finished twice, in 27 bouts. Machida was finished 3 times in a row from April 2015 onward. USADA was put into effect July 1, 2015. None of this confirms Machida was cheating. I'm wondering about his change in size and demotion to normal fighter.
There was no change in appearence at all and any deterioration of performance had more to do with his age and slowing down, his speed and reflexes were always his main strengths which PEDs have no impact on.
I think in future he should change things up a bit and take advantage of his insane ground game/bjj. Look to take opponents down asap.
You're making me strongly argue a point that I don't want to argue. Slowing down is something that happens with age, and is a huge factor based on his style. It's his drop in strength. Or maybe what I perceive as a drop in strength. Machida once seemed able to shrug off take downs from peope at 205, if the were lucky enough to catch up to him. This doesn't seem to be the same case at 185, and if anything, he should appear stronger in this division.
Maybe Luke can fight Yoanna Yinturdchuck next for the glass jaw title. C.M. Punk can be guest referee. -I smash cucks!
If Rockhold had a solid jaw he could have been the goat. Such a great understanding of wrestling and BJJ, very good rangy striking and not in the boring way like Shields.
He has a Glass Jaw and a Glass Personality, and soon to be a Glass Bank Account. He'll be an undercard fighter from now on.
