On the occasion of testifying to his cruelty in pursuit of a divorce Mrs. Julia Fitzsimmons:

"He used to go away and be brought back intoxicated later by some friends."

The cause of their final separation:

"We had a quarrel about his drinking, because he refused to quit. I had not been speaking to him. When I passed by the door, he kicked me."

The article in the El Paso Herald also claimed that additional witnesses had seen Fitz strangle his Mrs as well as pull her hair, and that he also used to "throw bottles at her."

She sounds like a pretty quality lady actually. All she wanted was to legally revert back to her old name: "I don't want alimony. I worked before and I can do it again."

    Did they have any kids?

There have always been scummy men who thought beating a woman was just fine to do. They like Fitz might have been totally strong in a boxing sense, but as weak as a man could be in another.

Bobs son was born in texas in 1896. when bob died in 1917 he was on his fourth wife.

The son grew to be a tough HW boxer in the 1920's, never knocked out in 43 fights.

Fitz did ,one with his first wife a boy called Charles, three with his second wife ,Robert, Martin ,and Rosalie ,none with Julia the wife in question.Fitz remarried after divorcing Julia he was married four times in all.
Fitz and Fitz Jnr ,they gave exhibitions together .
Fitz Jnr had a stab at boxing ,but was not really all that successful.

P,I have been civil to you.Why bring me into a subject in which I am not part of except to try to belittle me.? You obviously are not a nice chap to try to use me as a punching bag. I know your hero Cassius can do no wrong, and conversely, I can do no right. What Knowledge and experience I have in my lifetime contained in my pinkie finger, exceeds what you have in your brain.
P.S. By the way have you in your infinite wisdom, know how many "innocent" German civilians the RAF killed in bombing raids over Cologne, Hamberg and Berlin in WW2? Hundreds of thousands !!! But to defend your
idol Clay, you have to again bring up an old post, which I thought we put to bed a few weeks ago. Sir, thank God you are the exception, not the rule on ESB...Sayonara:hi:

For whatever reason, after reading all of the posts on this thread, I couldn't help but think of that saying, "All is fair in love and war."
