@ BW or Super BW who do you favor in this awesome battle between 2 Mexican warriors? No doubt this would have been a bloody scrap. Also interesting to note that they both also retired Carlos Zarate as well.

I think Pintor would be too strong.

Zaragoza was a jack of all trades. Didn't do anything really REALLY well except later utilize his tremendous experience, but his physical tools were not truly great. That said, there were some solid, workmanlike guys without overwhelming tools that took Pintor deep and really tested him, like Davila. Davila boxed better than Zaragoza though.

This one's tough, but I think Pintor comes on late to edge Zaragoza on points.

    Pintor outboxes him fairly clearly.

Against all-time greats it seems easy to pick against Zaragoza. I don't mean that disrespectfully but as @salsanchezfan said, Zaragoza didn't do anything really well. The thing is that the one thing El Raton had that stands out above so many is his willingness to fight. If a boxer stepped in the ring with Zaragoza he better be ready and able to put everything on the line. If he didn't, Zaragoza would beat him.

I'm going with Pintor but if they fought ten times Lupe would definitely lose some of them.

What a great match up. At first I would pick Lupe but then I could also see Zaragoza coming out on top as I dont remember Pintor fighting too many southpaws and that could become a huge factor.
Nobody is going to get stopped thats for sure.

The man definitely came to fight. Just one look at his face and you'll know that this guy was a boxer.

Can you, or anyone in the thread, list some of Zaragoza's most notable fights and important victories and defeats? Seriously interested.

Watch the series with Paul Banke. The second fight is just nuts.

The second fight with Banke is crazy. His two fights with Tatsuyoshi (my favorite boxer of all time) are also great, and last but not least you should check out his fight with Kiyoshi Hatanaka.

I was thinking along the same lines, even in winning fights Zaragoza would ship plenty of punishment, and his worn and battered countenance always showed the effects of his opponents shots, his defence was not in keeping with is courage and stamina, thinking he would look like chopped liver long before the end, I would be surprised if he was KOd by Pintor, more like a lopsided loss on points, he was tenacious as hell, good idea to book the surgeon in advance !
    stay safe buddy.
