Anyone else out there wondering why the hell a second fight wasn't made between these two? IMO this is a perfect example of two fighters who--while not the best in their division--were very evenly matched and made for a great fight, in a similar way to Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward.
Too big of a risk. Managers of the heavyweights don't like these kinds of matchups in recent times because of the degree the loser's stock drops. They end up with a big rebuilding project on ther hands and if it isn't a title bout, it isn't even for much $$$. Why take that risk when they are other easier matchups to be made? Both guys have an L on thier records so what we boxing fans usually get is a matchup against some face first easy to hit guy instead.
nice analysis...that was the time when there are a lot of prospects that a loss of either one would be end of the career of that fighter..it would surely end in a KO
