    Mismatch or competitive?
    A war between the two?
    Dempsey who wrecked Willard
Going up against Lyle who kod Shavers?
15 rounds and 1920 s rules and gloves.

Give me cute boxers to beat lyle by points you have tons of them but a 188 pounder brawler beating lyle toe to toe? Lyle nearly stopped Foreman who was bigger stronger, better, had better chin and did hit harder than dempsey

Dempsey. Lyle would put up a good fight, but after a couple rounds when Lyle runs out of steam Dempsey takes him out. Lyle didn’t pace himself well enough for me to see him beating Dempsey.

Lyle isn’t losing to a cruiserweight unless that Cruiserweight is either Evander Holyfield or Olegsandr Usyk.

    Lyle by KO

It is competitive, because Lyle always made things competitive, but it ends the same way as all his other key fights!

Dempsey stops him. Some guys hit unusually hard for their size and Dempsey was one of them.

Yes, Foreman hit harder than Dempsey. But Ali didn't and he stopped Lyle. Lyle won't be able to deal with the speed from Dempsey.

Lyle may score a knockdown aka Fripo but ultimately loses.

Lyle is becoming one of the most over rated individuals on this forum. He was ok...a good contender. He didn’t have the Dempsey skill set nor the tools to deal with it. Dempsey early KO

Lyle being competitive with great fighters is surely eye openingly better then Dempseys domination of second to third tier fighters, Jack simply hasn't got the style to befuddle Ronnie he was a ferocious fighter but a Cheetah has no business stalking a Bull.

Sharkey was a good win as well. And that was a past it Dempsey. His hand speed and power are on display clearly. Lyles chin wasn’t very good. I see Dempsey getting to it rather easily. Lyle always has the punchers chance though
