http://www.mmafighting.com/ufc/2013/2/20/4011032/lyoto-machida-ponder-moves-to-middleweight-division How do you think he would do? Honestly, I think he would be very successful. I can't think of anyone I would favour over him aside from Anderson, whom he would never fight. He has the TDD and scrambling prowess to shut down any of the wrestlers that he would come across, and he would have a striking advantage over everybody. Could he one day be Anderson's successor? Keep in mind that he is already 34 years old, and there is no telling when Anderson will hang em up/be defeated.
There are still some interesting fights for him at 205, but I would love to see him in there against some of the best at MW.
Another L for Vitor then :conf I would be extremely pissed off if Lyoto fights Wiedman before Anderson did
Why the **** would Machida move down to 185 when he would never fight the champion!? Makes no damn sense... Is he that afraid of Bones Jones??
He said he would fight in both classes. Don't think he is scared of Jones. He will most likely be fighting Jones after the Chael thing happens. Machida could very well be MW champ when Silva retires.
He came in at 202 yesterday, so I don't think he cuts at all. He can do it. If he can do it without his cardio/performance suffering is yet to be seen, but I'm pretty certain he can make it.
I'm almost positive he can make it. Machida/Cung Le? Machida/Belcher? Machida/Belfort? Machida/Rockhold? Machida/Lombard? Machida/Larkin? :yep We do need a Machida/Rua III before either one calls a quits, though.
