Bowe also had one of the best trainers in history in his corner while Tyson kind of had a revolving door after Rooney if I'm recalling this correct.

Would of been interesting had they fought in 93 had Tyson not gone to jail. After jail Bowe falls off a cliff in 96 so Tyson KOs him, but I wonder if Bowe would of whipped himself into shape for Tyson unlike Golota, would it of mattered by that point?

Anyway its hard for me to pick Bowe anytime in their careers with 93-94 being the best time for a Bowe win obviously had Tyson not gone to Jail. Still, like others have said, Bowe's competition and lack of fights vs big punchers raises questions.

Also there is an interview with Bowe on YouTube where he's hanging out with Holyfield and he discusses seeing Mike around his school and knowing of him but not being friends with him

I don't like Tyson here, I love him to get the ko/tko. He simply will not miss with his follow up 2/3/4 punches on that defense. And he'll clean up on Bowe who throws that wide looping right hand from way on the outside. It won't land and Tyson will clean up on that big target right in front of him. Some better legs by Bowe would help significantly and would allow him to capitalize more on the reach and size difference. But he has bronotsaurus legs and Tyson is very very quick on his feet when he steps in to put him inside that power zone he loves. and he punches while moving those feet.

Some Bowe mobility would help to avoid letting Tyson get in that real estate area Mike is so effective at.

A straight right hand would help the Bowe chances a lot but it just is not there. Just that wide looping one from way on the outside and it won't land clean on those early Tyson rounds when he used that quick jerky style of his.

And if Riddick throws his right uppercuts on the inside--does not have a left uppercut which would help--he is wide open for a left hook and Tyson throws a nice short left hook with a lot of steam on it.

Actually, the effective right uppercut here is Tyson's......he'll land that hard right hand to the body and then come upstairs with that nasty right uppercut in a nano second. And that Bowe defense is not blocking either punch.

tko 2 or 3 rounds. This is one of those matchups that puts Tyson in as one of the greatest heavies of all time the way he destroys the guy.

Tyson for me. Bowe's chin-first defence is gonna suck against Kid Dynamite.

Pretty sure Bowe went to Springfield HS (Queens) maybe he was born in Brooklyn though. There is a banner honoring him hanging in the rafters

Bowe for me. I also believe he has the better chin without a doubt

Their respective results against Golota certainly don't portray that.

Tyson would b by far the biggest puncher Bowe faced. As far as chin, you need accumulation to the later rds(Holyfield n Douglas) or a big right hand like Lewis to stop him. Even took 8 rds for Lewis to stop a faded Tyson. Holyfield n Douglas also didn't get hit like that barring a knockdown Tyson dished out to Douglas. Bowe would not fight as crafty as either of them so he would b an easier target which would play into Tysons fists. A career shortening war but I go w Tyson.

To be fair, Golota never laid a glove on Tyson so that match up doesn't prove it.

That said, I feel Tyson has a far more proven chin. He took on, and survived, big bangers - a question Bowe largely left unanswered. Also a far worse version of Holyfield had Bowe in far worse trouble with one shot than he had Tyson in. Evander had to pummel Tyson who stayed on his feet.

Tyson would take Bowe out for mine and not too deep into the fight. He might even get him during his raging early rounds start, it's sure not impossible. Bowe's a top fighter but for me this is a bad matchup for him. Huge punching blitzkrieg who puts immense pressure on initially. Bowe would probably hold less and try and punch more early vs other Tyson opponents which suits Tyson just fine. Bowes best chance is to land something significant early and follow it up to put Tyson on his heels and cool off that early foray.

I would pick Tyson to stop him around 6ish but a decision wouldn’t shock me either…either way Tyson wins this

Tyson stops Bowe who was far too hittable and didn't use his height and reach.

I also don't get why people think Bowe has a "great chin". I would say his chin is above average but "great" is definitely a stretch. Holyfield is a decent puncher no more no less and he floored Bowe and badly hurt him, and likely would've finished him off without the Hepatitis zapping his energy levels.

Tyson fought a murderous puncher like Ruddock and took hellacious shots for 17 rounds without ever really being hurt, also fought other notable punchers like Bonecrusher, Bruno, Stewart. Tyson wasn't afraid to step in there with punchers, where as Bowe on the other hand seemed to shy away from the big punchers of his era.

I think in actual fact Tyson proved his durability more than Bowe did, you literally had to pummel Tyson to stop him. And any single punches Tyson took off big punchers like Ruddock he dealt with just fine.
