Should have been a no contest for me. The cut occured in the first and was accidental from a head butt. Further rounds should really be disregarded as MAB was clearly crippled by it, all he could do was shy away from the left. Having said that I would put money on Khan in a rematch. His straight punching, in & out speed and general footwork would keep MAB from getting close enough. He's even learned to hold on the occasions when he in close range.
Feeling like he could go the distance and hoping he could are two different things. It was wishful thinking by a corner who knew their man wouldn't want to quit on his own volition. This was a home job. If Khan has that cut, even without corner protest, that fight gets stopped no later than the 3rd.
i agree 100%,it was a bull**** decision, why let the guy fight 5 rounds with the cut which never drastically worsened then stop it?? terrible decision.
yea its stupid why stop it in the 5th but not in the 1st when the cut is exactly the same? Total bull****.
just wondering, if they would have stopped the fight before the end of the 4th, it goes to the scorecards right? How does it end up a no contest?
this is one of my posts from the rbr thread. I posted it during the 3rd round. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3616332&postcount=102
Khan won this fight, not quite far and square, but he won never the less, the other way round all this crap would not be going on. Personally I think 4 rounds is too little amount of rounds, it should be 6, half way or even 8.
