I'd like to see how Marquez gets on with Pacquiao and then see where that potential fight can go from there. I think Marquez still has more than enough left in the tank to take a beating to Erik whose legs have completely gone. That being said I have been way more impressed with Morales' comeback than I thought I would be. Hes still durable and possesses those nice precise straight punches to control the distance. Marquez however as we know brings the precise combinations and counters that Morales has not encountered at 140, and that would spell disaster for him. He might be more far gone than we realise though come the Pacquiao fight. For me as much as I love him, Barrera has faded into almost total irrelevance and would be better testing the water at 135 if he want to make any moves in the sport. I'm not sure Morales can boil down to there and I think it would be unfair to bring Barrera up.
Look, Morales is 35. He isn't RJJ style shot. He has some good bouts yet. Don't rush to throw him out. Barrera is worse. I wanna see him maybe 2 or so more times, no not in Khan fights, maybe a fight against 1-2 easy fighters. And a super fight with Morales. Then Barrera retires. Morales Maybe. But yes, MAB-Morales 4 sounds good.
I think Morales can still pull the trigger, not as fast as the very best out there, but I say he is still very much at the top 10%...... Very good work last night..... I think that is where knowledge of basic boxing will give you, nice work on rolling with the punches, nice work on using the jab, accurate shots... overall at least 80%
I think it'd be a nice parting fight for both of them. Might be the thing they need to finally just let go and retire.
I don't really want to see it... If Morales loses he will probably go back to the drink... this series has been put to bed now... let it be
