    Marco Antonio Barrera is un-retiring!

I heard it in the local spanish newscast in Los Angeles, I have'nt read anything about it in boxing sites......

.....just thought I mention it so that the forum knows about it!

Its too bad.....losing to great fighters like JMM and Pac was'nt really a bad way to go out.

:yikes Huh and fight who? He just fought a few months ago.

IF it's true . . . I pray to God he fights Valero and Fana for their belts and then retire for good. :D

Well, he did say that the Pacquiao rematch was his last fight of that magnitude. He will probably take someone easy to beat in Mexico or Califas to at least leave with a win.

The sports anchor on a local spanish newcast, said "MAB has informed us that he will not hang them up and will fight again."

.....so it really is'nt a rumor by the way it was phrased in the newscast.

MAB most likely just mentioned it to the spanish station sports anchors that covered his fights since his pre-championship days.....the journalist he confides in most.

.....anybody who saw the Hatton-Mayweather weigh-in......MAB was on the podium behind the fighters, and you could see that his right upper cheek right under the eye socket was swollen.......
......most likely due from recent sparring!

if he does come back id like to see him fight valero.... might as well, maybe he could beat him and take his 0... and he would 'retire' (ya right) with a W over a future major player.

Before he fought Pac the 2nd time, I think his plan was that if he loses to Pac, he will have one more fight in Mexico and that's it. So if he is up for one last fight to have that W in his last fight, sound ok to me.

he said that the fighter that could well beat PAC is valero, so i doubt he'd be opting for someone who can beat the guy who put him into retirement. i remember he said that after the Pac fight that GBP wont be earning as much as his fight with Pac. He said he'd like to fight once or twice in his hometown as gratitude for their support. i doubt its going to be a mega fight.
