Hamed was ALWAYS a lazy trainer. He NEVER liked roadwork. Facts are facts. Hamed fans make more excuses for their man for just one loss than any other boxer in history. Facts are facts.

    1. It was pretty damned one sided

    2. true, Hamed fought one more time, but it was plainly evident that he had been degutted by the experience of the MAB fight.
Barrera didn't just soundly defeat Hamed, he popped the arrogant bully's psyche and exposed him for the flash-in-the pan front-runner with no character that he was.

His obnoxiously extravagant, self-indulgent, buffoonish ring entrances, taunting, standing over and intimidating fallen opponents, yeah, that was real exciting and "good for the sport"...well, it just made it all the sweeter when he got humbled....and i acknowledge that he was a huge puncher and all, but some people have tnerve to deride Tyson for being a bully who finally got his just desserts..hey, Tyson was almost "Joe Louisesque" in his sportsmanship and respect for his opponents compared to the little prince.

I agree with what lora said back on the first page.

As aside, Naz was an A class **** who gets no love from me, but although he folded against Barrera, I don't think it's entirely fair to say that it was always the case throughout his career. Granted that the likes of the Kelley (faded), Sanchez and Medina aren't earning a pog in the IBHOF anytime soon, but he came through adversity to win against the likes of them even if you think his mongpower punching bailed him out.

Camacho and Nas are NOTHING alike

Nas is a "****" then what is Barrera? He fouled the whole fight and look at his comments towards Morales and other guys. Nas never made comments like that ... sure he was arrogant but what champion isn't?

Nas brought excitement and entertainment ... nothing malicious to the sport like some of you ***gots claim. I'm a bigger Tyson fan than a Nas fan and I'll be the first to tell you that Tyson didn't always show great "sportsmanship" ... He tried to break Frans Botha's arms, which was disgraceful to see as a Tyson fan ... remember his feud with Ruddock? Nas showed respect as well to his opponents ... after the fight just like Tyson did. How "respectful" was that dick eater Barrera? He was fighting against Morales in a press conference, throwing wild haymakers at him.

Roy Jones Jr. did the same antics as Nas. Showmanship is a lost art of the sport ... which is why you ****tards claim that the Klits are boring.

Yeah moron, Nas fans try and explain his loss more than any loss in history because his critics make a bigger deal out of it than any loss in history. Except maybe Tyson losing to Douglas ... and both of these fights can be explained

Nas trained less than ever and even looked bad in sparring ... it was clear that he had slipped considerably and was diminishing as a boxer ... and on top of that he was getting cortisol injections to try and treat the chronic inflammation in his hands. He never took Barrera seriously and thought that he could just show up and his power would get him the win.

Tyson did the same thing. He hardly trained and went on a crash diet to try and loss weight in order to get himself into fighting shape. He has many personal problems at the time and took the fight with Douglas in the first place because he thought he was an easy opponent. Tyson was getting dropped by guys like Greg Page in training and even Trevor Berbick was giving him a hard time. He was clearly out of it like Nas.

naz was the only featherweight champ that matter during the 90s-early 2000s and unified every single belt. **** politics, he was the champ of all four bodies. he ducked marquez (and possibly with good reason) but prime for prime, i pick naz. still, that holds against him.

in the end he accomplished a TON with little more than natural born talent and should already be in the hall of fame.

but barrera kicked his ass from pillar to post and 3 rounds is the absolutely MOST you can give hamed and those were rounds that barrera stepped off the gas

Yes,Marcy isn't the type of fighter that I'd hold up as a shining light of consummate sportsmanship and good will. Not unless you think throwing sucker punches at press conferences is a classy gesture.

Hardly standing up to a bully, though,is it,lad? I mean,he outpointed him,and I suppose you could argue that he outboxed him,but it was hardly the way you'd expect someone to stand up to a bully. It was effective enough to give Barrera the nod on the judges scorecards, though I'd personally expect a little more out of a so called Mexican warrior.

Naz had dominated a weak division for years, and had stagnated quite a bit I believe and fallen in love with his one-shot power by the time the Barrera fight came along.

With Barrera and Morales moving up from SBW and Marquez sitting there at FW as a legitimate threat already, Naz was caught between a rock and a hard place.

Lets admit it he had to fight one of these three, for I believe at this time SFW was one of the strongest divisions in world boxing, and a move up would have necessitated an eventual match-up with either Mayweather, Corrales, Freitas or Casamayor, who all would have beat him even worse than Barrera imo.

Barrera beat him with fundamentals, but I feel Naz of a few years before would have maybe made it a tougher fight - probably still would have lost though.

I don`t like Barrera too much but I thought he was masterful in this fight, really showed his versatility in this one & proved he might finally be ready for a 2nd chance at the great Erik Morales.
