i think soto now is finally living up to his potential, and he will most likely move upto LWW by next year. khan was a boy, come on. he had reach and size ye, but mab was by far the biggest test of his career.
Personally, i dont like the idea of him moving up to LWW. And Khan was like what? 21 at the time of the MAB fight? while MAB was 35, thats size, reach, age and to top it of speed advantages Khan had...Look, i had no problem with Khan fighting Barrera, it was the ****ing bull**** result that i had a problem with.
damn! mab should retire. i don't want to see him get another "L" in his record. He has proven enough!!! His legacy is sealed win or lose!
wel he is tall, and strong. but his strength is his reflexes and counter punching, moving up could take this away, and i could easily see him getting bullied off bradley
Marco Antonio Barrera wouldn't have stopped Soto in his prime, so I really don't see him putting up to much resistance here. In his last performance although he still showed some good combination's, particularly to the midsection, his legs were never really there, and he seems to have lost his killer instinct altogether. Humberto Soto is bigger, fresher, and has shown respectable power even up at Lightweight. The Diaz fight could have easily been done with in the first round had he applied himself after hurting his man. It's fair to say I'm not really looking forward to this match-up but I've got Marco's back through thick and thin. For him to win the title against a fighter of Soto's caliber at this point in his career would be nothing short of astounding.
I'd like to see MAB get one more tuneup at 135 before he steps to Zorita. Soto isn't as dangerous at lightweight as he was at FW, but he's still plenty tough. MAB looked to me like he was gassing in the late rounds v. DeJesus, and he was able to fight at his own pace the whole time. That's not promising.
This fight is winnable for Mab make no mistake about it. Guzman easily beat Soto with his footwork alone. If Mab's legs are still there and his body will allow him to take some punishment from Soto, Mab stands a good chance for a 4th title in a 4th division.
Marco's legs aren't still there and Barrera won't be Boxing anybody's ears off on that night. ...I'd like to think he will...but he won't.
Barrera has deteriorrated yes, but so has Soto. He's not the beast everyone makes him out to be at this weight class. I favor Soto by about a 4 to 1 margin, and with those odds its like I say in poker pocket Aces doesnt beat ducks preflop all the time.
I haven't seen a Soto fight since he got DQ'd by Cortez. He's been screwed out of a potentially great career. Hopefully, he beats MAB and gets his name back in the Pacquiao sweepstakes.
