MAB was clearly nowhere near his best

The Khan haters are hilarious...If I was sad enough I could dredge the predictions out of Khan being KTFO in Round 1. They must be foaming at the mouth right now having seen Khan dominate Barrera which is what happened. Yes the cut helped Amir...but even before this MAB was in trouble. I wanted to see more rounds and a better fightback from MAB. Khan still needs more challenges along the way. Be interesting who his next few fights are.

just got back from the fight and i am gutted.
Gutted for Cookie, who i thought lost to a future star.
And proper gutted to see Barrera loose like that.
Not a Kahn 'hater' but really dont think this victory tells us anything.
Not impressed at all. Thought he pulled a lot of his shots.
May change my views tomorrow when i watch it soba.
Take the cut away, i still believe there was only 1 outcome. Khans legs were stiffened in that last round. This win has only postponed the inevitable.
Kahn will get knocked out the next time he gets in the ring with a world class lightwieght.

i'm going to agree with that..

khan won well tonight...and a definite improvment with his hands well up...but..he did look like was afraid of getting clocked, he didnt look as 'fluent' as in the past...he DID look like he was pulling some of his shots..

i think he would have won tonight, cut or no cut.....but..he would never have done that to a prime barrera...cut or no cut.

I'm no Khan fan but why are people trying to put down this performance? What were they expecting out of MAB? Khan did what he had to do, he beat an old, slow featherweight. Its not an Earth shattering result (and, yes, IMHO his chin will let him down when he's in with world class LightWeights) but he did the job that was put in front of him.

Ignoring the state Barrera was in for a second.

The only thing about Khan that did not impress me was his punching technique. It's still not very good, I still think he lacks top class power. He wasn't really transferring his body weight as he came forward, or planting his feet, as he was keen to keep away from Barrera's left hook.

The one thing that has improved is his hand position as he throws the jab.

Other than that, its the same old athetically gifted Khan.

Its like people are disappointed in the outcome and are looking for a reason why MAB didn't perform like he did 10 years and 10 lbs ago......

MAB was nowhere near his best !

My answers to that - we knew that going in & tough ****.

He shouldnt have taken the fight, Barrera wanted out very early on, it reminded me of his actions in the 1st Pac fight.
I think he felt out of his depth in the 1st rd to be honest.

I was impressed with the improvements i saw in Khan tonight. All round he was better technically, not just defensively. Unfortunately that partially blocked left that had him wobbled and the glancing right that had clinging on in the fifth confirmed to me that an unhampered MAB would have taken him out at some stage, no matter how badly he was being out boxed. Well done though Amir, a massive improvement.

The MAB we saw tonight was better than the Roy Jones Jnr that Calzaghe faced.
