does anyone else think the stoppage was a bit harsh??

i would like to see that again and maybe further analysis.....dont get me wrong it was only a matter of time before it happened, but azzoui looked fine.......and my god that was the quickest 10 seconds of my life.

the replay that they showed you was not convincing enough for me i dont think.......... especially when in the background, before azzoui hit the canvas, a ringside official was out his seat (finger raised) startin the count........ i think i only heard 1,2,3 an that was about it.

nothing against maccaraneli but i think it was a bit harsh:bbb

Azzaoui didn't want it , that shot didn't hurt him(and it wasn't illegal either). He was looking for a way out and got one , so I don't really care if the count was quick or not .

It was another Bobby Gunn. The guy came to survive. The outcome doesn't matter. I'd rather see that stoppage than another 7 or 8 rounds of a guy spoiling. Enzo didn't seem on it like he usually is. I suspect he could have done away with him sooner.

If you've got any of the EA Fight Night games, just set up a two player game, but without anyone on the other joypad and watch that.

nah..i thought it was a full ten count but azzoui was too busy complaining that it was an illegal shot instead of getting his hands up.

then again, i haven't watched it since or timed it so maybe i missed something.

First time I'd seen Macca fight, wasn't a great opponent, Azzoui was more aggressive and intense in his ring walk and staredown than he was after the bell rang! Although I'm aware he was a late replacement, so not necessarily Enzo's fault.

Agree with the other poster - Azzoui was looking for a way out - he was more interested in talking to the ref than fighting Macca.

Macca looks to have some power, he's a big lad, I hope to see his fights more often.

I liked the look of that Cleverley fella, he'll be a big ******* in a few years time when he completely fills out! Easily LHW, maybe even Cruiser? Enzo Calzaghe's got a good stable of fighters.

I'm actually glad this fight took place. With defenses against guys like Gunn and Azzouri under his belt, Maccarinelli will be crucified if he fights another no-hoper. This was his last gift. Every cruiserweight in the world should drop the diplomacy act and start talking **** and calling this guy out at every turn. Enough's enough.
