Did that 3x this year. They were all ranked in the top 15 when I fought them.:deal Doesn't matter how high I'm ranked, if I'm not the mandatory, I will be avoided.
If Haye wins.. And Darnell, as a legit Top 10 contender, is just as worthy as anyone else in the division.
I understand that, and those were great wins but...both those guys were well past championship form. Dale Brown is one of my favorite fighters, but after the Bell fight, he was basically finished. Those two and the Nwodo win were big and Ding is right there, but I'd like to see him get another win to force a shot. Those champs simply won't fight him and he won't be mandatory unless he does. Someone mentioned Cantatore, that would be a good one. I'd love to see Ding ko him too. Ding has a good chance to beat anyone in the WBO top ten other than maybe Bell, Huck, and possibly Banks (who doesn't seem to want to fight anyone).
The point is not so much that he ducked Ding, which, of course, he did, but that he picked another random guy who doesn't have a chance...All said and done, he couldn't have picked many better opponents than Ding, though. So, Macca...:hi:
Are you implying that Brown, Davis, and Nwodo weren't ranked in the top 15 of any of the sanctioning bodies when I fought them?? That was actually the reason I fought them to begin with.:good
If Maccarineli thinks he has the goods to unify, why does he haul old men out of retirement or face the (newy crowned) #15 on the ranking? Surely a champion of his ambition and scope can take challengers a bit higher up the rankings? Yes, Ding is strong and dangerous. He says there are a lot of fighters like that out there? Well, how come you're not fighting any of them? Because you're a gutless champion. This is why I don't like people ragging on Jermain Taylor -- he fought and he lost. That's boxing, but I'll still look kindly upon him because he took fights he didn't know he'd win. There have to be winners and losers in this game -- Ali lost, Hearns lost, Duran lost, but they dared to be great, and had the pride and drive to try and beat the best. We still love them for it. Boxing is a sport -- not a bloody business. **** Frank Warren, and **** Enzo.
Ding -- try and relax. Get a good rest -- keep fit -- keep sharp. Your day will come, and whatever anyone here may say, trust me, come fight night, we'll all be rooting for ya. Don't let these *******s sidetrack ya -- in the end, real heart always leads to glory.
No **** dude. On the bright side, it means that I can make enough money to get back to MD if you need tall guys to work with. Frank Warren is such a *****.
That fight was my goal in the first place. I wasn't necessarily after Enzo per say, I just saw an open opportuniy to gain a world title especially after the comments he made about me. I want the number 1 guy, and thats the winner from November 10th.:thumbsup To achieve that, my promotional team is working hard at trying to stage an eliminator fight in the next couple of months. They sounded pretty confident about it being on one of the two major networks.
I don't get it. So he didn't fight Ding, so what. Wayne Braithwaite was a more dangerous fight than Ding and Macca destroyed him. Azzouri is not world beater, but he's ranked in two other organizations, same as Ding, and frankly we don't really know the politics and finances of the negotiations, so it's sort of dumb to just go off on Macca and Warren. Azzouri is a reasonable opponent, provided Maccarinelli steps up early next year and pushed for unification. It's not my business, but I'd be curious about what happened in terms of who offered whom what. Did you offer to fight for short money and they turned you down?
I'll tell you what my problem is with it. First off, Enzo is complaining that noone wants to fight him. The other champs are busy, so Darnell (Rated #7 WBO by the way) calls him out on it, offering short money. Enzo then blows him off and digs up Ezra Sellars, who magically appears as being ranked #15 WBO out of nowhere. BBB of C pulls a very classy move and will not sanction the fight. Darnell meanwhile is still available. Then, Enzo and camp try to make a fight with Nwodo, the man Darnell just knocked out. Nwodo declines because he still has a fractured eye socket and has not been in the gym. They then give the offer to this new guy, who has beaten noone and so Frank Warren looks straight past a #7 ranked contender available and now this new opponent is magically #14 WBO. By the way, I agree Braithwaite was a good win for Enzo, but name me anyone in the top 10 who is not a champ or busy, with a better recent resume than Darnell. Fact is he was ducked and Warren and Enzo are both bitches IMO.
