Well I think the thread title is a bit harsh.

You cant really call someone who has achieved WBU and WBO and European honours a Journeyman.

But I agree - he was exposed to the extent that he wasnt good enough to live with Haye.

And I agree - he probaly was in over his head in such a big promotion and fight.

Its one thing being a chief support beating up some south amercian journeyman propping up Calzaghe undercards down in Cardiff.

But this fight and promotion was something else................

It was honestly the biggest hype / promotion I can remeber for a all British Clash.

You couldnt drive down the road without seeing a massive billaboard with the "Disunited Kingdom" posters plastered over the side of buildings.

Exlcusive Setanta Coverage and HBO from America flew into London to exclusively cover the fight.

Even former Undisputed Crusierweight Champion Evander Holyfield was flown over from America to the Setanta Studios to give insight into the fight and watch the live event.

There was big money on the line - and 3 world titles.

On the night itself - ferries were shipping the crowds up and down the London Docklands to get the thousands of people to the big event.

HBO TV crew had all the ringside TV seats as they broadcast scenes to the O2 arena back to the millions watching all over the east and west coasts of America as they settled down with their popcorn and hotdogs and coke and invited all their friends around.

Thousands of people across Britain scrambled to order their Setanta subscription to cacth the Battle of Britain.

And crowds flocked into the arena - even people who were not into boxing - knew this was a big event - and even dragged their missus along who were all glammed up for the must see event of the sporting calender.

I wasnt there myself - but was watching live on Setanta - and the atmosphere at the 02 seemed daunting and electric.

It was like a whos who of the celebrity world - spot the famous faces in the crowd - I spotted loads - Joe Calzaghe, Emma Jo Larvin, Evander Holyfield, Frank Bruno, Des O Connor, Kelly Brook, Amir Khan, Eamon holmes, Dizee Rascal, Bruce Forstyh, Frank Lampard, Ant and Dec, Ben Shepard, Peter Andre, Amanda holden, Simon Cowell, Chris Moyles, Russel Brand, Sarah Harding, and Cilla Black, etc etc, etc

So it was going to be nerve racking for the fighters with so much at stake

And as Steve Bunce said - it was the fighter who handled the night the best - had the best temparent who he fancied to win.

It was cleearly Haye who handled it very well - taking it all in his stride and handling it like a real cool customer.

Enzo on the other hand panicked and run to the ring and as Colin Hart said he froze.

I feel that Maccarinelli could have done alot better - given Haye a fight - even if he had probaly still lost in the end

But the reason for such a poor performance by Enzo that night is - I think the occasion overwhelmed him.

However Haye showed he was the man for the big occasion.

    yes I can imagine

But that can work both ways.

either a fighter thrives on it - or becomes terrified.

    Haye seemed to enjoy it.

But as soon as you seen Enzo galloping to the ring - you knew he just wanted to get it all over with because it was a daunting occasion.

yes but Barret did qcuit himself bettered where it mattered - in the fight.

A 5th round tko and he hurt haye at one point.

Barret didnt freez as such - but yes he did make a silly entrance.

    Yes - thats obvious now

Haye laying out Mormeck took him to another level.

Before that - its wasnt really know if Haye was good enough to win World titles, etc.
