Maccarinelli exposed as a glass-jawed journeyman

Dunky the kid deserves credit for taking the fight especially as you very well know there are other fighters out there who avoid proper challenges.

Enzo is a good kid but I had noticed he was vulnerable when I saw him live on the undercard of Tyzu versus Hatton fight. He was fighting a very poor journeyman and did not take his punches that well so I knew he would not be able take Haye's power.

I agree with you 100% glad Warren and Enzo Calzaghe got exposed.

Everybody gets an arsekicking now and again but he shouldn't lose your respect he just got beat of a better fighter.

Anyways...... as a Welshman I am dissapointed that Enzo lost but as a Brit I am very happy as David Haye is the no.1 Cruiser in the world and soon to be a very good heavy, David moving up in weight saves USS Cunninghams life. Haye has the skills to pay the bills.

Id fancy Enzo to outbox the incredibly one dimensional Wilson, he looked awful against Flores. Wilson is an average fighter with great power, Enzo is a much better rounded fighter with a big dig himself.

 

Enzo Maccarinelli is a good lad however I suspect the reason he is getting stick is because of the crap pre-fight that came out of the mouths of Enzo Calzaghe and Frank Warren.

Haye might appear cocky but he took the hard fights on the way up and quite frankly beating Mark Hobson who you have fought and won against before to take the WBO Cruiserweight title is not the same as Haye going to Francer and stopping the unified WBC and WBA champion like Mormeck. Unfortunately for Enzo his fights beforehand probably had not really prepared him for facing someone like Haye. The funny thing is that Enzo has actually been improving over the last 18 months however you cannot imagine him beating the likes of O'Neill Bell, Mormeck, Cunningham and Haye. Johnny Nelson would have beaten Maccarinelli but I don't think he would have stood a chance with Haye arguably the most gifted Cruiserweight since Evander Holyfield. Yes I think Haye is that talented and a great addition to the heavyweight division. The best thing that ever happened to Haye was Karl Thompson humbling him early in his career.

 

Nobody enjoys getting hit and anyone can be hurt but how you react goes a long way. The truth is Enxo had not really competed at this level and was found wanting at the moment of truth. It is not about fighting it is about facing tough fights on the way up. Lloyd Honeyghan faced Cliff Gilpin on the way up which was probably his toughest fight and prepared him to be a champion.

 

The mistake was taking the fight because they thought was dead at the weight and would be easy pickings. I think Haye can actually fight better and will at heavyweight.

Come on mate be fair he did show up, he just got executed by Hayemaker. At least he turned up and took the fight whereas there other fighters who would not have taken the fight.

That's quite possibly true, but the thing is, 99/100 Haye will land first, that's why he won. Making out like it was a few lucky punches is a cop out.

 

Well Adam booth hayes manager said that they had conned maccarinelli and warren by saying they would have trouble making the weight.

 

Haye would stop Skelton but I think would lose to Peter in a great fight. Thes two might be the future of the division.
