Lockett is class. Strange comment about no one being in the Calzaghe camp who was a proper boxing fan. I get what Enzo is saying, It does make a difference and is nice to have people who really love the sport and Enzo does like his dad did.
It kind of makes sense what he says, If Joe was surrounded by boxing people he may have fought better opposition.
Agreed. Enzo vs Fry is actually a pretty intriguing fight and one that will tell us whether Enzo will make any impact beyond the domestic LHW scene.
clazaghe fought Hopkins Lacey Jones JR Kessler Bika Sheika Reid Woodhall Veit hardly a shabby list is it
Was there actually any SMW's around at the time who Calzaghe didn't fight apart from Sven Ottke who would have never taken a fight with Joe. I guess Bhop whilst he was Middleweight champion was the only one you could say Joe missed out on but even then Bhop didn't seem to fancy moving up in weight at the time.
Who's he gonna beat, though?Cant see him beating either of those two now.Would have given him at least a chance if he was at the weight in his best days though, especially with his left hook.
He needed to go to the US or move up to light heavy a lot earlier. Plus I can never forget when Joe said that he didn't want hard fights when asked about Roy Jones but he jumped at the fight when he saw that Jones was a spent force, that was poor from him.
Just checked his record. You could be right. Also read the article. In it I read that Enzo is a man of faith, which he has in common with Darren Barker. In my opinion, they're both a good advert for Christianity.Nice guys don't always finish last.Good luck to both tonight, and I hope you're right about Enzo.
