Machida laid out the blueprint on how to beat Jones..

Anything can happen but doubt Dan Henderson will beat Jon Jones, he is probably even more shop worn now, took some heavy hits from Fedor and had a murderous fight with Rua.

Jon will beat Dan with stand up, stopping him 4th or 5th round i reckon.


Jones has dominated Hamill, Bader, Rua, Jackson, Machida.....and will dominate Henderson, R. Evans...


Phil Davis and Gustaffson are the ones where they could possibly get better and be the ones to dethrone him. See how Phil does with Rashad.

Since the UFC matched the following-

R. Evans vs P. Davis
R. Jackson vs R. Bader

Perhaps Gustaffson could fight Nogueira?

And bring in Mo Lawal and Mousassi.

 

The lateral movement definitely gave him trouble but it wasn't the counters so much as the leaping lead lefts that he was getting raked with. Jones defense is still questionable and Hendo's overhand right is far faster and harder to avoid than most of you think. That being said, it's still pretty clear that Hendo has a mere puncher's chance due to Jones' prowess in the clinch and Hendo's subpar gas tank.

 

Even if he did lay the blueprint, who's going to do it? Who can strike like Machida better than Machida can? Clutching at straws here.

 

The problem with Mousasi is that he just doesn't seems to give a single **** about it !

 

Dan Henderson would get put out. Jones just needs to get into a boxing camp, perhaps something with Emmanuel Stewart or Brother Nazeem.

Yeah good fighter, remember early 2009 no one really knew Jon Jones or how good he would get.

He is clearly better than Henderson, Rua, Evans, Rampage and Machida who are all the best at Light-Heavy....in fact at this moment Jon Jones head to head is probably only behind Shogun Rua of 2005. Again Davis, Gustaffson are guys who could improve so we dont know how good they could become wheras we know what we get the likes of Evans and Henderson.

Jon said he wants 5 months off if the UFC will let him, so looks a fight with Evans in May/June and Henderson Aug/Sept.

 

Machida was the absolute worst stylistic match up for Jones, and he still ended up unconscious on the floor in the second round. There aren't any super technical strikers who are capable of picking Jones apart on the feet while stuffing his takedowns for five rounds fighting in MMA at present.

And LOL @ Henderson being able to land anything on Jones if he's even able to keep the fight standing. Hendo got muscled in the clinch and taken down by a rocked Shogun before he was totally gassed in the last two rounds of their fight.

 

If they fought again, Machida would lose in the first round. He got dumped on his back pretty easily when Jones wanted to take the fight to the ground, and Jones was able to do serious damage as soon as he got Machida down. I think that the only reason that Jones kept fight standing for that long was out of respect for Machida's TDD.

 

Exactly. A fighter who'd be capable of building on what success Machida had doesn't exist, and Jones is only going to improve. People are acting like the guy is a finished product when he's probably not even going to be in his physical or mental prime for years.

Pretty much everybody did besides those two incompetent judges.

 

Machida won round one but some people are acting like he badly rocked Bones and dominated him in the stand up. atsch

The truth is Machida stole round 1 and got ****ing destroyed the next round.
