Shogun has this week signed to fight machida later this Year.
Who's going to take this one?
Does Shogun deserve his title shot?

I think Lyoto is in his prime and Shogun has lost a step. If we can have old Shogun back it could be a hell of a fight.

I would have liked Shogun to have another fight before he took a fight like this, but you can't blame him for grabbing a great opportunity. I'm disappointed in Rampage though. After all the talk (he keeps banging on about how he wants his belt back) and him complaning about TUF after his last stint as coach, he rejects a chance to fight for the belt to coach on TUF for the 2nd time. :patsch

Shoguns body looked different vs Liddell I heard he has a new strength and conditioning coach so im sure his cardio has been worked on significantly and lucky for him Machida doesnt fight a very high pace. When Shoguns lost hes been worn down and submitted or obviously agianst Coleman a freak injury. If Shogun can keep it standing he may have the tools to beat Machida he has a proven tough chin and has that brutal Muay Thai in the 3rd round Tito Ortiz didn manage to get the Thai plum on Machida he didnt do anything with it but we all know Shoguns Thai skills are leaps and bounds above Tito Ortiz. I dont expect Shogun to win but I give him a decent chance probablly better then most when hes healthy I think offensivly hes as good as any fighter at 205. Plus im a big fan and would love to see him win.

I think Shogun poses the greatest threat to Machida. I thought Shogun looked good against chuck and if he has indeed improved his cardio, it will be one hell of a fight.

I wanted to see a more controlled, less wild and smarter Shogun against Chuck and we got it.

You could say that we need to see the same Shogun against Machida but i'm not so sure.

With Machida people are going to start to fall into the same trap as those who fight Anderson.

They are afraid and have too much respect for Machida and Silva, so they end up with a **** work rate and also end up trying to beat Machida and Silva at their own game.

I think we need to see more of the older, intense, energized, awkward, unpredictale and Wild Shogun against Machida.

Shogun needs to take the fight to Machida from the first bell Chute Boxe style.

Don't give Machida the tme to think or Breath.

It's different with Anderson because his toughness is proven. He's got a big heart, can take big shots and can adjust to the pressure.

I want to see Machida's chin and heart tested.

Shogun could be the man to take Machida out of his comfort zone and make him fight. :good

Shogun needs to be aggressive and unredictable like the old day's but get smart like he did wth chuck when he needs to.

If he can find the right balance he could defeat Machida imo. :good

i think if shogun brings his A-game to the table i can see him win this fight i dont mean to bust the machida bubble thats going on at the moment but not so long ago shogun was regarded as the best 205 fighter in the world i think were gona see the shogun of old in this fight,1 other thing they have trained together many many times in brazil with anderson silva too so i dont see shogun being suprised by his abilities or his ELUSIVENESS!!! but it will be a great fight, chute box all the way

This is awesome. I hope the old version of shogun shows up cuz this could be fight of the year if it does. Shogun was the best at one time. If that old shogun shows up then we're in for a good fight.
