Some were saying that Pride's fighters were coming to dominate the UFC. Rampage won a title, but has never been a threat to challenge Pierre and A. Silva in a pound for pound sense. Machida is already knocking at the door with his victory over Evans.

Anderson Silva has always been a physical talent, but has a mediocre record in Pride. Silva was not part of the established Pride champions and top contenders moving over to capture UFC titles.

Thats not the point though, so was Lyoto at that time. But look at what Franklin has accomplished, to the same extend Bonnar, they were successful and good fighters. And Lyoto is twice the fighter now as he was then when he was dominant, If he fights Franklin now, it may be a worse beating than Anderson gave him

To be honest I don't think anyone is in a rush to fight Machida. I really don't blame Rampage:lol:

He could have been trained by Bruce Lee himself and it still doesn't mean he is a great striker. He isn't bad, but he isn't at the same level as Machida. Being wild and aggressive doesn't automatically make you good at striking.

Shogun is a overated **** fighter, sad thing is i actually bought into his hype before he came to the ufc, he is good at soccer kicks, nothing more.he has 0 head movement and lacks the elusiveness to beat a world class striker like Machida.

Just another bjj guy who thinks he's a thai boxer.

I'd take Cro Cop at 205lb to beat Machida.

Kongo is irrelevant to this thread.

I don't see Kongo as even receiving any hype what so ever, he stepped up like a man to fight Velasquez.

I think this is a very intriguing fight. I don't think Rampage has the tools to beat Machida - so matching him up with Shogun is a good move. Shogun looked very good in dismantling Chuck Liddell.

This fight could just be a second rate kickboxing match - and it could play out as an all out MMA brawl going all over the place. I think this will be a great fight.

You guys underrate Machaida badly. The guy has never lost a round. I think he dominates shogun the same way he did Evans.

They dont underrate him, they just dont understand him. MMA to them is Rampage with his big chain around his neck with his silly grin.
