Whitaker was just a better fighter.

Camacho was ultra talented, faster than Whitaker of hand and foot, decent power, and had good skills, but Pea was even more skilled. His defense was more multi-layered as opposed to Camacho who relied more on movement.

Whitaker had a very good workrate, ATG jab, could find the openings on opponents from an assortment of angles, and tougher than Camacho. Whitaker gets hit or hurt and looks to come back stronger, make adjustments. Camacho looks to survive.

    Whitaker 8-4 decision.

I think the most interesting aspect is Pea's Head Movement vs Macho's Handspeed.

Alright I got this one. Both are crafty southpaws, but Hector's superior hand and footspeed make the difference. In a fifteen round, winning 11 rounds to 4

I think Whitaker wins a close decision in a dull fight...

    Agreed.

I think Whitaker's south paw style and accuracy would negate some of Camacho's speed and ultimately lead to more effective landing and scoring. Camacho might actually take Pernell out of his game for a bit, forcing him to be the pursuer rather than the retreater, but as you say, sweat pea was a good adaptor and every time they'd meet for an exchange he'd likely get the better of it. A prediction of 8-4 is reasonable. I'll go along with that.

what about the fact Hector also fought as a southpaw. You dont think that would pose a problem for Pernell? combine that with his superior speed and I see a problem
