Mackie Shilstone on working with Riddick bowe and the Holyfield Bowe Trilogy

I thought Bowe never used weights.

I don't think Shilstone put him on some serious weight training regimen, probably Lee Haney did.

I'm surprised that Futch let him do some strength & conditioning training with other trainer, not very common for an old school trainer.

How does Mackie compare to the other world class S&C coaches out there?

What methods did he use with the Boxers?

 

Mackie Shilstone is full of ****.

He makes it sound like Spinks was struggling before they linked up and after that it was easy going for the rest of his career. Same with Bowe.

 

Bowe was always ballooning up in weight prior to meeting Mackie.

 

That's correct and he ballooned up after too.
