With the defeats of Casey, McCloskey and Magee in recent "world title" fights, Matthew Macklin again plays the role of underdog as he travels to Germany and aims to restore some pride by taking the WBA Super title from Armenian born champion Felix Sturm.

Real name is Adnan Catic if I'm not mistaken? I remember because Sebastian Sylvester insisted on calling him that rather than Sturm.

Yeah i remember that. Sylvester thought he was getting inside his head. Was beaten fairly comprehensively by Sturm in the end.

You are right thanks for that, am I thinking of Gevor? Probably.

Its funny that most or many of the "German champions" aint German and a lot change their names as well.

Born in Germany to Bosnian parents was my understanding. So, Bosnian by Macklin's standards... ;)

Gevor and Abraham are Armenian. There's plenty of other examples too, Marco Huck is Serbian, the Klitschko's and Volodymyr Sydorenko are Ukrainian, Zsolt Erdei is Hungarian etc.
