This fight was on most peoples "what fights do you want to see?" list. Lets hope it happens.

Give over Matt...you're pretty average yourself beyond British/European level. Barker is well in the fight as long as he doesn't fight like a ****** again, if he sticks to his boxing he's classier than Macklin.

Sounds like they both want it, so this looks a little bit closer to happening. Excellent fight. Really hope it happens. Barker's chance to really step up and prove he's above domestic level. I'd go for Barker UD.

To be honest I see this as a very close fight and I can't see the bookies making either fighter the clear favourite. I feel the same way about all of the top British & Irish 160 lads. Not much in it between them (Barker, Lee, Macklin, Duddy, McEwan) just can't see it much of a difference between them. I know a lot of people don't rate Duddy here but he would give any of the above a run for their money even though he may be slight underdog.

    Yep.

It's getting hard to like Macklin with his obsession with "levels" and putting other fighters down. Seems like he's coming home from the US with his tail between his legs as things haven't worked out, now he wants to stoop to Euro level again and pretends he meant to all along. I'm a big fan of him as a fighter and a person but maybe all the trainer-swapping is due to them telling him he isn't superman and him not liking it.

surely macklin must be favourite for this one,his level of opponent is higher than what barker has been in with, got tbh barker seems like decent fela but i havent been as impressed as some of you guys.

stopped paul samuels in 1 round

    stopped steve bendall in 7

    darren mcdermott in 4

    danny butler in 7

    and the french guy

nothin to impressive there but was supposed to fight elcock put he pulled out and butler stepped in. the macklin fight has been talked about for a while with both seeming to want it. i might be wrong but i think macklin may have pulled out of 1 to fight for the european
