Any chance of German tv pushing for a rematch because I would love to see that?

Do you not have a problem with the 116-112 scorecards though??

I wouldve been happy with sturm or macklin by a round or a draw. Personally I had Sturm cos i agree imo he landed the better shots.

Very close fight, 116-112 is an insult to anyone who knows boxing. The judges who had that scoreline ought to be ashamed. I aint arguing with the result, it was a pick em, but the scoreline was criminal.

He said he'll give him a rematch, more importantly will he actually get a rematch?

Watt mentioned that there was a possibility of Sturm fighting Sergio Martinez next. I'm not up to speed on whether Martinez is fighting Darren Barker in October - also read that Sebastian Sylvester might be Barker's next fight instead - but I'd guess Macklin's chances of a rematch might actually depend on who Martinez fights next. (Which would be a bit ironic, considering the rivalry between Macklin and Barker.)

Personally, I'd rather see Sturm fight Martinez next. Not sure where that'd leave Macklin right enough...

I honestly cant see how Sturm could be given anymore than 6 rounds maximum.

Sturm landed the much cleaner punches, the rounds 3/4 that were won clearly by one fighter were all won by Sturm.

Macklin walked forward and punched gloves.

I could of seen this fight either way, it depends if you like aggression or clean effective punching, a rematch is warranted but no robbery here.

Very clever, highlight my quote and then my location. Good argument.

Erm...you must have missed the rest of his post that had his 'argument'...

I'd agree with that. Sturm landed the cleaner punches, and was able to defend himself well from a lot of Macklin's shots. In terms of clean, effective punching I'd give Sturm the edge; in terms of effective aggression I'd say it's clearly Macklin, though at times his aggression wasn't effective - at times he was walking into punches at having his own shots blocked; ring generalship would be Macklin's, as he was able to keep Sturm in close for most of the whole 12 rounds and have him fighting Macklin's type of fight; but defensively Sturm was superior, and was able to block a fair few of Macklin's shots.
