Jeez..... there's something not right about Macklin, seriously. The amount of fights he's pulled out of for whatever reason, it's a wonder he can put food on the table. He needs to be careful otherwise promoters will just refuse to work with him because he's not really worth the hassle.
To be fair to Macklin, it was Barker who pulled out of their signed fight and Winky who pulled out aswell. He's been unlucky up to now, but if he doesn't fight Sturm next, I'll be the first to give him stick.
ghevor wouldve given him fits anyway, i reckon macklin has found his limit and its time to cash out, he'll get his title shot, lose and then fight barker an then retire. it would be interesting to see him in with old shop worn pavlik.
bull**** bull****,seems like he always pulling outta fights for one reason or another.**** him hes way over rated anyway.
I agree that its frustrating following Macklin with all the fights that have fallen through, however, its was Barker, Wright and Pirog that have pulled out on him as well. I think I will reserve judgement on this on until I hear a little more about the reason. He is with Golden Boy but there is a history with co-promoter Hatton and the Khans also have a reputation about financial matters. We shall see.
to be fair Barker had a legit injury which has kept him out of the ring for a full year. Macklin pulled out to take other fights....one of which hasn't happened.
Remember I mentioned his relationship with Hattons when the fight was announced and you didn't see it as an issue. Pirog's camp have a very different view on that. they said Hattons messed them about. Wasn't he due to fight Gevor to. He has pulled out of Barker twice. He wants the fight but on his terms.
I never berated Barker for pulling out of that fight. I never questioned the authenticity of it either. Boxers get injured, it happens. Neither guy is at fault for that fight falling through, it's just one of those things.
Macklins career is just being wasted by changing trainers and promoters every other fight. he gets no momentum. Warren was moving him forward. He would have got him a world title fight this year.
Not surprised to be honest, well disappointed though. This was looking to be the best fight on the card, in my opinion.
Agreed. He needs to drop the "Rolling Stone" mentality and stick with someone who can deliver the goods (ie: Warren).
