Buddy is more like a motivator, wouldn't mind him in my corner but not as a trainer. lol.

A motivator..? when his fighters need motivating he pulls them out. I think he's just somebody who has lived off his name and professional boxing achievements.

    He's crap.

Bad move. I appreciate that it probably wasn't Macklin's first choice, and there's a reason for that. Joe G is a good trainer and works well with MM, which is the most important thing.

How many times is Macklin going to **** on Joe, the next time Macklin asked Joe to train him Joe should tell him to fuccck offff, the rumour is Macklin has been saying Joe has not been putting the time in with him because Joe has to many fighters personally I think that is a load of bollocks and just an excuse

Some serious shĂtetalk on this thread - from people that should know better as well.

    1. Macklin signed with DiBella to get big fights in the States. Thats to be commended rather than some British based "world champions" that cower behind their belt/s.

    2. DiBella wants Macklin in New York to build him over there.

    3. Macklin can hardly tell him to Foxtrot Oscar especially as DiBella is delivering a fight with the P4P #1 in the division.

    4. Macklin would prefer to have Joe still with him.

    5. Joe has a lot of commitments in the UK and its impossible to train Macklin on a day to day basis.

    6. Macklins choices of trainer in the tri-State area are limited and the New York gyms are on a massive slide. McGirt is available, Macklin nows the score with him, better the devil you know.

    7. Role on St Patricks Day.

Seems simple to me but I could be very wrong.

    :good

There was a year or two I seem to remember McGirt was seen as very good trainer by most on here. He has went down hill fast though.

Don't think him and Macklin put on the best performance last time they were paired up though. Macklins made some great choices in a short period of time I don't think this is one of them though.

McGirt is extremely compatant. One of the most respected in the business. People shouldn't diss a guy based on tittle-tattle and someone making a joke about his style of delivery. Without having seen him work behind the scenes.
