Easy now I'm not letting people take my future nickname without a fight, Macklin will have to fight me for it if he wants it ;)

Tony this isn't the 3rd or 4th opponent that has pulled out. Originally it was meant to be Macklin v Pirog but the Russian pulled out and then it was meant to be Macklin v Gevor but Macklin has pulled out. That's only 2 fights and in one of them it was Macklin who's had to withdraw so it's not like their looking for another opponent.

Both Pirog and Gevor make more sense than Barker, they're better fighters and ranked higher with both the sanctioning bodies and in the opinion of boxing fans World wide. Not that Barker isn't a fine fighter, he is and was it Gevor that pulled out here, I think Darren would of made the perfect replacement.

However Darren is severely untested against quality opposition and at the moment if he's going to get himself a fight with Macklin he'll need a few big wins. Unlike slappy I'd fancy Barker to get the better of Duddy or Lee, but he'd come up well short if he were to match up with Macklin.

I've said from day 1 I fancy Mack to knock Barker out I just wanna see it, He do Duddy however I feel Lee is a smart fighter and would fight to his strengths.. It won't be long till these matches take place, 1 thing I'll say for Macklin he needs stability in hos coaching roles..:good

Macklin really does need to settle with a trainer, its ridiculous how many hes gone through in his career. Gallagher seemed just right for him.Duddy macklin would be a war while it lasted imo macklin taking it.

I think Macklin would really hurt Duddy. Macklin has a fantastic chin so I don't see Duddy hurting him, I think Mack would really struggle with Lee for some reason though. I think the Barker fight would be entertaining until a dramatic end came..:good

I definitly believe he needs stability in the coaching roles!! I don't know why or understand why he left Gallagher??

I like macklin, but his loyalty needs checking. Theres an excuse for every trainer hes had, i could probably name 10 and hes what, 27.

Will macklin get stripped or what? i mean he hasnt defended his title since he won it so there must be a limit of cancelling and dodging fights one can get away with?

He's only pulled out of one fight; it was Pirog who withdrew initially which is why Gevor got the nod to fight Macklin.
I don't understand the **** fighters get when they withdraw with legitmate injuries.

Im from ireland and i want to see macklin do well, i just want to know how long can he hold on to the EBU strap before he forced to give it up if he does not fight his mandatorys ? no insult or **** meant from me.

He won't get stripped - he's barely held the strap for six months.
Look at how many times Baysangurov ****ed over Jamie Moore.
Pulling out of one fight won't bother the EBU.

  14. I also believe Macklin would spank Duddy, I think it'd be a very short fight. I don't agree about Lee though, he hangs his chin in the air, moves back in straight lines and holds his hands too low. I think Lee is the worst 'prospect' I've seen in a long time.

Macklin v Barker is a 50-50 fight in my opinion. Barker will improve as he steps up in class.

Yea i agree that andy lee is rubbish , barker should fight him would be an easy win for him and decent scalp on the european scene.....
