Macklin vs Geale set for later this year OR is he fighting Gevor OR both!?

I read that Macklin vs Gevor is set...

 

A good 4 - 6 fights off being ready ???????? :huh

Macklin has no one on his CV that Barker would not beat handily , ****in hell Luis Ramon Campas , this is a fight that's been getting the drum banged on for 12 months !!!!!!!!!!!!! , where the ****in hell youve plucked Barker is not ready and needs 4 - 6 fights from God knows .

In 4 - 6 fights Barker will be lookin for a world title atsch

 

Agree'd , Mitchell Murray is another good domestic fight , but Mitchell has just come off a career best performance (2nd last fight Prescott) and we know has World Champion potential , i dont see that in John Murray and id fancy Mitchell to stop him midway through .

I look at Macklin and Barker and see one man avoiding another man when a fight has been on the cards for a long time , added to that there is no gulf in class between these two as ive stated there very evenly matched and Britains boxing fans wanna see it , Murray Mitchell isnt really the type of fight we as British boxing fans should wanna see Kevin in , Katsidis is a much better option than John Murray .

Whereas i dont see Geale for an alphabet as a better option for Macklin .

 

Look for Hatton to go the IBO route with Macklin against Mundine :deal

The IBO will be to Hatton but the WBO is to Frank.

EDIT: actually read it and saw Mundine vacated. Still looks to bo the IBO route though, vacant title perhaps?

I think Ghevor is next up as mando for the European but after that Macklin may fight Geale in a world title eliminator. Obviously, it is only the Aussie promoter throwing Macklin's name out there. Hatton may have mentioned something to him whilst on holiday but that doesn't mean Macklin-Geale will happen.

 

Gevor gave Abraham a tough fight. Didn't see the Sturm fight but apparently he was robbed.

A far more dangerous assignment for Macklin than either Pirog, Barker or Geale IMO.

 

World titles mean **** all nowadays.

More than ever, it's quality of opposition that counts.

I think your right at the top level , if you are a Eu champ or C'mmn Wlth or British or American champion you need a world title somewhere down the line for credibility , hence Mitchell looking at Katsidis instead of John Murray , Amir Khan looking past almost every fighter apart from the ***an's and Earl's of the world , Hatton looking past Witter , Calzaghe Froch and so on !!!!!

I think if youve been a world champion and proven world class your bang on there is no requirement for a world Title to be on the line (DLH Pacquiao , Hatton Pacquiao (IBO aint a World Title) , Mayweather Marquez) , but if your looking to break into that " Box Office " status you need a strap at least 1 .

 

I don't mean in terms of business, I mean in regards to accomplishment.
