eddie seems to think this is in the pipeline in September time, would rather macklin had another fight or two before going back to world title level. how do people see this going? don't think Jacobs is great, and macklin could find himself ahead after 4/5 rounds however he can't keep it up though, think he'll lose a late ko around round 10.
Macklin should fight Eamonn O'Kane next to go one level above his last opponent. Would be a good positive step up.
Exactly....I would never consider Jacobs a good opponent for Matt, and certainly not at the moment. Matt needs to fight 'little and often' to re-sharpen his skills. It was failure to do this, - taking 'small' fights (going only for the once-a-year big one-off title shot) that hurt him big in recent years IMO.
How about a fight with Spike O Sullivan in the 3 Arena for Macklin the winner fights Andy Lee. Get Andy on the show too. Now that would be a fight to see. Spike would be a good fight as if Macklin is back he should be able to get the better of the dangerous Spike but he will have some tricky tricky moments.
