I've seen this on boxrec and i was wondering if its been confirmed yet? I haven't seen anything on Pirog although i hear he is a very talented prospect. Who do you guys see winning? Either way it's good to see Macklin staying active and hopefully he gets a title shot soon.

Good chance the fight will be put back a few weeks to allow for the cuts Macklin received in his last fight.

Pirog is good, very good and this is a real 50/50 fight.
I think Macklin will prevail in an absolute war, Pirog's defensive frailties will show him up.

Nice. Does anyone else feel that this could be a gateway fight onto the world level? Whoever wins gets their shot? If Macklin prevails i feel he has done enough.

If macklin does defeat pirog then he does deserve his shot at pavlik more than anyone else in the division, but this fight is 50/50 pirog does not have any defensive weaknesses at all he has a beautiful bob and weave style which make him extremely hard to hit! if macklin doesnt land early and get him out of there then pirog will out point him by a wide margin.....

  5. My mate fought both, was defeated by both, more comprehensively by Pirog.

That said, I'd fancy Macklin to outwork the lad & stop him. As mentioned though, 50/50 fight most definitely.

Just being watching a bit of Pirog and he seems WIDE open for a left hook when he leans back. His work rate too seems amateurish; i'm going for the pick above.
