Singed a new 2 year deal with Warren. Sorry if this has done before but I thought Macklin was a decent prospect. He bounced back well from his fight with Moore and has progressed under McGirt. I thought beating Sylvester was a possibility. I saw both their performances against Allessio Furlan and thought Macklin did much better of the two, it's the only common form guide I have and I do realise it doesn't mean anything too soild but still I thought he had the tools to do it. The thought of him embarking on a WBU extravaganza with FW just depresses the **** out of me. Any theories on his reasoning in signing up with Warren now? lack of ambition? looking for some easy money? lack of self belief?
He wants fights in Birmingham and Warren has promised all his fights to be there . Macklin wants the Elcock v McDermott winner . I thought Macklin was going down the right path in Ireland rather than being held back by Warren , but it's Matt's decision and if he wants to be WBU champion so be it .
I think Warren has to deliver big fights for Setanta, and Macklin is a class act, so he might push Matt along the right road towards meaningful titles.
