Madrimov vs Mayweather 154 no catchweight like Mayweather did vs Canelo.

The Mayweather from the Cotto or De La Hoya fights.

I understand that Mayweather is small for the weight class as its his 5th weight class. Does Mayweather outbox Madrimov or does Madrimov size and akward style give Mayweather to much trouble to overcome.

I got inspired to make this thread from the Crawford vs Mayweather thread of whos a better 154 pounder at 36

Mayweather's defense is better than Bud's but his offense isn't. Mayweather was accurate but was low volume. I think Madimov could outwork Mayweather but still get robbed on the cards. I doubt we get a stoppage or even a KD either way.

Madimov isn't as good as DLH but the version of DLH that fought Mayweather wasn't a prime version, unlike Madimov right now. Mayweather didn't face many prime fighters so it's hard to gauge how well he would do here. I think Madimov has the ability to win the fight, without question.

Easy fight for Floyd. Madrimov likes to fight in the center of the ring. He doesn’t pressure you against the ropes and smother your offense using roughhousing tactics, etc,(Maidana, Porter). Floyd would’ve systematically pick him apart. Unlike Crawford, Floyd is a more calculated counter-puncher in terms of setting traps and baiting his opponent to throw exactly what he wants them to throw. The best way to throw Floyd off his game is by doing exactly what Maidana did in their first fight and Madrimov simply doesn’t fight that way. Styles make fights, people. Don’t let hatred get in the way. Facts over feelings.

Mayweather potshots Madrimov to a comfortable win.

Too clever, too technically gifted, and too sharp and accurate when he elects to open up.

Madrimov would struggle to generate any momentum on offense.

Madrimov would have to win 9 rounds clean to have a shot of a draw against Mayweather in Vegas. Don’t think he can do that

Mayweather is too slippery. He would feint more than Crawford did too and that would be crucial I think

I'll take Madrimov. Floyd never fought a real JMW for a reason.

His style favors Floyd and he had 10 fights, i think Mayweather would've fought Madrimov with a BS rehydration clause. Madrimov isn't big so he probably would've accepted it

Rehydration Clauses or not, Mayweather is just too good for him and would win a comfortable decision.

I'm assuming conditions are mutual as in Crawford fights 22 y/o Canelo at 152lb cw and Floyd fights unrestricted Madrimov.

Not sure Israel doesnt become a lot more aggressive against Floyd

Even then I would favor Floyd. I just described the most likely scenario because Floyd is a snake

Yeah I agree Floyd is the better fighter but he would make the fight at 152 with a rehydration clause just to be safe.

Floyd by comfortable UD. To beat him you have to be an aggressive in fighter and madrimov is nothing like that. Whereas with crawford you will get dismantled easier if you are too aggressive

It is an awkward fight for Floyd, with considerable risk.

But I think he probably manages to avoid the worst and eek out a 7-5 type decision similar to what Bud did.

Floyd said GGG would be "easy work."

That would be a different story.

With an unhappy ending for Floyd.
