Did some of the experts on here see Mads Larsen yesterday? How do you rate his performance?

The danish commentator called him the third best SMW out there. I know it i biased, but how far off is he?

He'd be knocked out by Froch and would lose to Bute, Munshite, Lacy, Inkin, Kessler and obviously Calzaghe.

He'd be around the tenth best in the division, but not any higher than that.

    #3? No way. I don't think he's top 15 yet.

    Who should be next?

    A ten-rounder against

    - Manfredo (is scheduled to fight against Green, so it won't happen)
    - stablemate Danilo Häußler (Berrio refuses to fight Häußler, so I can see it happen)
    - Tatevosyan (the guy who beat Markussen but was outclassed by Bute and Froch)
    - Christian Sanavia (beat Markus Beyer some years ago), I don't know how good he's nowadays.

Velasco was competitive against Brähmer (I had it 114:113 in favour of Brähmer, but one could score it 113:114, too), but I don't think Velasco is a top20 smw. And this fight was some weeks ago and Velasco's eye was completely closed in this fight, so it's possible that he wasn't at his best against Larsen.

Currently I think he is around no. 15 at SMW which is a very deep division. At his best he was top 3.

I hope he can polish on his game and get top 10 or maybe higher.

But he's not young anymore. He lost what could have been 3 of the best years of his career (with time needed to rebuild his status/abilities perhaps closer to 5 years) fighting legal battles against Mogens Palle.

I doubt he'll ever get as high as top 5 again.
Would love to see him prove me wrong though.

Claus Borre should be ashamed of himself for making such a disgustingly biased statement. The guy further humiliated himself by claiming that Kessler had outclassed Lacy.:wall

It is still hard to rate Larsen, but I would probably place him around no.15 right now with a good chance of entering top 10 soon if he remains focused and keep stepping up the competition.

Something worries me though, he didn't manage to make weight up to this fight (not a good sign when it comes to Larsen), and he seems to have lost some pop.
