Too late for him to do what? If you mean win a world title, im afraid so. Hes the wrong side of 30, and the SMW division is way too strong for him to win a title at the moment. What happened with his fight with Ottke? I havent seen it, but noticed its an MD. Controversial?
I see him fighting the winner of Sanavia - Haeussler around March 08. Then he may get a shot vs. the interim champ in the WBA...btw,is Mundine coming back or what?
Mads Larsen didn't exactly loose against Ottke but he didn't win either. IMO he made the big mistake of not taking any chances in that fight. He played it safe and that is plain stupid when you're not the titel holder. He should have been more aggresive. It's a damm shave he had those problems with Palle though!!

I dont agree, Ottkes style were perfect for dealing with boxers that came forward. If he had taken chances i believe he would have lost bigtime. Most media( inc. Fight-news) had Larsen as winner with 2-3 point clearly not enough at that time in Germany(has become better since).
It was a close fight that could have gone either way. After German standards I wouldn't call it controversial. The worst part about that fight is that Ottke knew the scorecards before the last round and therefore knew he just had to stay alive. But knowing the scorecards in advance was nothing new in the infamous Ottke-era.:-(
If you give Ottke 2 points for being champion, and 2 points for hometown adv. then no it wasent a robbery Agree with the rest, but the ref. didnt make it any better in Ottkes fights, boxers got warnings for hitting Ottke:huh And he got away with running in 12 roundsatsch He was the Marathon Man, and all his fights were borring...
And when Mundine knocked him down in their close fight (until Mundine got KTFO) it was ruled a slip.
My point is that Mads new the terms under which he was fighting. He knew how difficult it would be to win without showing something extra. I know it takes two to dance but still. I remember being somewhat upset with his performance....he just never went that extra mile to land a clear victory and I really think he was physical stronger than Ottke and therefore would have won an open trading battle.
