Magarito's manager sheds light on hand wrapping controversey

    "We did not do anything illegal. What happened was that Capetillo prepared the gauzes that are used, two weeks before [the fight] and had them in a lump with cloth that apparently was humid and therefore hardened,...There was no substance like that there [the plaster]. The commission asked us to bandage his hands again and we did.”

    This came directly out of the mouth of Margarito co-manager Francisco Espinoza. He might not want to repeat this story to the commission. It sounds very shady

    Initial reports said that you could scratch the substance off of the wraps.

    That could not be accounted for using humidity as the reason.

    Maybe the humidity in his part of the world is different from the humidity in Florida. Around here it just makes things soft and damp. I got, Bizarro world humidity, that must be it...

    :lol: This guy might have just told on himself. Why are they using prepared gauze from two weeks before the fight? If im not mistaken that right there is illegal in itself.

    who has to prepare gauze? .. i mean i'm no fighter but i've had gauze put on my face to stop bleeding and they've NEVER took out gauze that was just sitting about for 2 weeks that was all hardened

    Here's what Richardson said;

    “When he put the wrapping on, I asked if I could feel it and when I felt it, I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, this is too hard,’ ”

    “When the commission flipped the [tape] over, a little block of gauze-like plaster fell out. I said, ‘Unwrap the other hand,’ and they were saying(Margo's people), ‘Oh, oh, the other hand is good.’ I asked the commissioner, ‘What if I unwrap the other hand at the end of the fight and it falls out of there, too?’ "

    When the other hand was unwrapped, another block fell out.
