    1. Magee hasn't vacated anything.
    2. I don't think he is even with Hatton promotions.

    I've heard nothing concrete about it at all - just rumours so far on here, which I take with a pinch of salt.

    Shame. Would have been good to see them go at it as they are arguably the two top domesic fighters at the weight. Hopefully this leaves Smith open to a fight with Groves. That's another fight I would want to see.

    For the British title, he holds the Euro.

    On the EBU website it says Magee is making a voluntary defence of his title in July promoted by Hatton.

    What is a more progesive step and a bigger money than fighting Smith. He got offered 50-50 which would be good money. The fight is logical for so many reasons. Outside of the fighters in the Super 6, and fighters already in eliminators or title fights with the IBF (Mendy, Bike and Brinkley), Smith is the highest ranked fighter with the WBO, and Magee is in that position with the WBC and WBA. The winner is guarenteed a World title fight within a year.

    If he goes on to fight;

    Stjepan Bozic - #7 WBA
    Stas Kashtanov - #9 WBO and EBU mandatory

    then fair enough. But there not more of a step forward than Smith.

    No way Warren lets Smith fight Groves. He'll get him someone else (Kenny Anderson maybe or Quigley pull out of Prizefighter) unless he reckons DeGale's ready.

    Just watch old George Groves sing Smith's name from the rooftops now , not completley suprised that Magee has done this , i think im right in thinking Magee has just signed with the Hattons and Ricky has a world title shot for him , word on the street !!!!
