    Pavlik would kill Macklin and virtually everybody in the middleweight division.

    Agree think Pavlik would be a step to far for Macklin - Svlyster is the guy Macklin should target for a title shot in my opinion..

    Pavlik gets a lot of hate on here for some reason, I know he isn't any where near a great champion but he is miles better than anything else at Middleweight

    Why I dislike Pavlik is because during his reign as champion he is yet to face a top quality middleweight, or anything approaching such status, bar the rematch with Taylor.

    The Hopkins fight was a payday.

    If you look at the others.... Lockett (domestic level), Rubio (probably Euro-ish level) and Espino (somewhere in between).....

    To be fair though I thought two of them were Mandatories WBO with Lockett & Rubio WBC and Espino there is nothing to defend that.

    He has had tough times outside the ring with injuries and that alcohol problem.

    You see some post on here calling him a club fighter but then again some Pavlik fans go over the edge in liking his arse

    The truth obviously lies somewhere in between.

    His fans are a bit insane though, Hermit and Booradley...... I still think he's a pretty weak champion, in a pretty weak era.

    Williams and Martinez would both smash him.
